Consultation The esthetician initiates a brief yet comprehensive consultation with the teen to understand their specific skin concerns and goals. This conversation covers a wide range of topics, from skin sensitivities to the regular use of prescription skin care products. Cleansing The first step involves using a gentle, non-foaming cleanser to remove any makeup, dirt, and oil from the skin. This provides a clean slate for the following steps and ensures maximum effectiveness of the treatment. Exfoliation An exfoliating product—either a facial scrub or a chemical exfoliant—is then applied. Exfoliation helps to remove dead skin cells, leaving the skin looking refreshed and allowing for better absorption of other skincare products. Steam A steaming process is often used to soften the skin and open up the pores. This is a crucial step, as it makes the extraction of blackheads or whiteheads easier and more effective. Extraction Following steaming, the aesthetician will carefully extract any visible blackheads or whiteheads. This must be done with precision to ensure the skin is not damaged. Mask A mask, selected based on the teen’s specific skin type and concerns, is then applied. This could be anything from a peel-off mask to a clay mask or a hydrating serum treatment. The mask sits for a designated period, usually 10-20 minutes, before being rinsed off. Moisturizing The final stage involves applying a hypoallergenic, non comedogenic moisturizer. This step is essential for maintaining the skin’s hydration and extending the benefits of the facial. Home Skincare Routine Advice Before leaving, the aesthetician will offer advice on a home skincare routine tailored to the teen’s needs, often recommending specific products to help sustain the positive results of the facial. When should you get it ? Every 4-6 weeks
